Heading to the mall consists of 2 staples: ice rink & carousel! Since
Kella has been tagging along on shopping trips since, well, birth she makes for an excellent shopper. Not relying on bribes for such behavior, I do think rewards are definitely deserved. It's usually a surprise to her when she gets such a treat and, thankfully, not expected. Standing in line for the carousel, waiting our turn, we start scoping out the perfect pony. This day it was the black one, which reminded me of a story Kipp's mom, Dot, told me about him as a little boy. They too, were waiting in line for this magical ride. When it was his turn he ran to his choice yelling, "black, black". There just happen to be a little boy of color on this particular horse and a furious mother. She yelled at Dot, saying she had a racist child, she was a racist,
yada-
yada-
yada... Dot politely said, "he was talking about the horse you (
censored word)!!! So to eliminate any confusion, I would repeat
Kella saying, "you want the black HORSE?" Fun stuff!

Look dad, NO HANDS!!!

Usually there are tons of kids, young ice skating protege's and clumsy adults on the rink, but today, a hockey game was going on.

Sweet girl....
sleepin the day away!
