Parties galore!
Through Kella's activities ("school", soccer & t-ball) we've made some really sweet friendships. This day ended up being quite the whirlwind!
Starters: I modeled at market a few weeks ago. Yes, you read that right...modeled! They were desperate at the showroom I've always worked in and needed some fill-ins, so I was happy to accommodate. A spray tan later & a few missed meals I was ready to roll! :)
Mom came down to stay with the girls and by the end of the weekend Kella just hadn't had her Gibbie fill yet, so she went home with her, again! One week later it was time for her to come home, which leads to our whirlwind of a day. We got up super early to meet mom & pick up Kella at our typical halfway spot. Drive back home then it was off to our first party of the day. This super fun party was for our friend from soccer/t-ball, Madison ("Madi") at Groovy Girls salon. New hair-do's, make-up, manicures and fun dress-up clothes were in store for these little ones.
Waiting patiently to get her hair did!Kella had no problem working the runway!!! That's my girl! She kept saying, "Mom, I'm modeling like you!" (Kipp, mom & the girls stopped by the showroom when I was working & Kella saw me model some really awesome evening gowns).
We had to cut the party short to make it to our next one at The Little Gym, this one was for Will, her friend from "school". It was so fun to see everyone again!!! I was too busy catching up with the other mom's to take pictures, but here's a few I did get...
But wait... that's not all! Our whirlwind continues...Kipp scored Cowboys tickets with sideline passes again, so after our 2 parties we raced home, threw on our Cowboy gear and headed to Arlington! That post to follow...

Under the big top!
By now Kella's LOVE for mermaids is no secret. She's moved past Ariel, whom she still loves, but is so intrigued with any mermaid, merman, person with any resemblance of a tail what.so.ever! She about came out of her seat when this pretty little thing came rolling out at the circus! The whole way home she kept asking to see the camera so she could look at the pictures of this underwater beauty!

Arts & Crafts anyone?
To give a little background info - I re-did one of our bathrooms this Spring, paint, mirror, the whole nine. We have a couple of those 2 step stepstools for the girls, but it was doing havoc on the outside of the cabinet. I asked my handyman-hubby if he could build me one instead with the perfect dimensions that would fit just inside the cabinet & is long enough for them both to stand on....voila! Since it stays inside the cabinet the majority of the time I didn't mind at all that Kella wanted this to be her very own creation too!
Also, notice my new purchase in the background. I found an old church pew that is the perfect size for the girls. It's been sitting outside for the last few years so it's a little weathered, which is perfect!!! I'm thinking it will go in Kella's room. It's the perfect length to go in front of her window, now all I need is to make some pillows, possibly a cushion, but not before it gets a good scrubbin'! Did you know you can use oven cleaner to strip paint, I sure didn't! If you have paint on ceramic or wood just grab a can of oven cleaner from the dollar store, coat it & wash it off! I want the pew to stay white so I won't be attempting this, but it's good to know for future projects! We went to Lowe's where K picked out the perfect shade of PINK, what else?!?!?
Ryan didn't quite understand how the paint stayed wet, she kept putting her hand smack in the middle to balance then would look in amazement at the perfectly painted palm of her hand. She didn't last long on this project.
Kella's still deciding on what's going on top....I will probably paint one hand of each girl, date it and call it good, but it's so sweet to see how proud she gets every time she uses her new stool....Thanks DAD!!!

Rodeo parade!
That's right... I said Rodeo Parade! Kella stayed the week at her Gibbie's house and to finish off her little vacay we watched the parade with some of my sweet high school friends & their kiddos!
| Kella feeling like the firetrucks are gettin' a little to close - she's making her getaway! |
Stephanie & her sweet little Bo! Yep, she's 9+ months preggers here.
Now that Kella's hearing has improved she's just a tad sensitive to loud noises. ( I think there were 10 firetruck sirens blaring)....but what's the BEST thing about this pick is Mr. Perry's new digs! Check out those boots!!!!!
The next morning we had the gang over for some much-needed pool time! Steph & Joce brought pizza & drinks, yummmmm!!!!!
Kella has spent a total of 2 weeks at my mom's this summer (1 week at a time), here's one of the reunion's when Ryan saw her big sis come through the door.... presh!

Kella's surgery
We decided to have Kella's tonsils & adenoids removed, along with tubes in order to help with some hearing issues she's had in the past. Not sure the video will upload, but you can see from the pictures she was feeling a little silly after drinking some "special syrup"!
We made it home where she camped out in "Gibbie's room". We were told from veteran parents to get LOTS of little gifts for taking medicine and doing all that good little patients are asked to do! Here she is opening some new lip gloss!
FINALLY, some one's getttin a little sleepy...
It didn't last long...another gift - princess press-on nails!
Then, she thought Ryan was due for a make-over...
Not sure this little one is needing much bribing to take medicine, but she got her gifts none the less!
