Everybody's working for the weekend...

We had a very event-filled weekend. Starting off by a massive Easter egg hunt on the field of Pizza Hut Park, home of FC Dallas' Soccer Team. The field was divided into 4 giant sections for different age groups...we thought there was more going on here other than the egg hunt, but still had a great time.

On Saturday was another classmate's birthday party at Pump It Up! Bouncy houses are Kella's favorite. We are lucky to have neighbors who own one, so she has learned to love these houses o' fun from a very young age.

Kella and the birthday girl, Bella. Look how hard they are laughing... so fun! Bella was the craziest slider I've ever seen, she would face-plant, roll sideways, ricochet off the walls and never miss a beat. That girl is a tough one!

I wish I had audio on this pic. She is such a GIRL when it came to sliding. She has the highest pitched scream... you can just imagine!

The whole gang... Belle, Emma, Carson, Birthday Bella, Camille, Kella & Ethan. (Look how Ethan is rocking those superman under-roos...he got a little excited, and distracted, and had a little accident...didn't seem to phase him). We've learned with Kella that drawing attention to these things only cause for embarrassment and makes her feel ashamed. Nobody mentioned the incident, I don't think they even noticed, so Ethan still felt like the rock star he is!!! Love these kids (and parents!)

I'm not quite sure what's going on here... I've studied this picture and don't know what to make of the white "stuff", icing perhaps, coming out of her mouth... who knows!

Of course she picked a blue cupcake! She loves to make her teeth, tongue and lips blue.

And lastly, was Sunday. First we headed to our friends, Tal & Casey's new house. A new driveway was being poured & stamped so we went to check it out, oh, and also eat some of Tal's yummy fajitas! The inside of the house is an 80's mess and I met with them this week to discuss the next step of renovating. They have hired me before to decorate, so thankfully they like my work and are trusting me to do this house as well. We are tackling 5 rooms right off the start. I will post the before pics soon and my progress as we go along... stay tuned!

Back to this post... later Sunday we headed to the AAC for some Disney on Ice. Kella wasn't quite sure what she was in for, we tried explaining, but all she cared about was getting to see Minnie & Mickey again. Would they remember her from the mall? Probably not. Did she remember the hug Minnie gave her and the pic with Mickey? You bet! Once the show started, she was hooked! I love this age!

Sun & Snow

Several inches of snow fell Sat night/Sun morning. Since our church is in Flower Mound, we decided not to make the trip over due to weather. Kipp & Kella enjoyed a few hours in the snow that morning then we headed to the mall for some game time at Dave & Buster's.

The ski ball was the funnest to watch. She could barely make it up the ramp, but she didn't care. I think she ended up with only 2 coupons after all was said and done, but no worries, mom scored her 280 playing Deal or No Deal, she got a snazzy new BLUE dragon. Who would've guessed?!

Disney on Ice is in town and Mickey & Minnie were making special appearances at the mall!!! We headed over after Kella got out of school. She could hardly contain herself... I wish I knew what she was thinking... she almost acted like it was a trick, that it wasn't really the 'real' Mickey Mouse! How could it be the real one??!!!! She never said it, but it sure looked like that's what she was thinking.

Of course I'm all for breast feeding, and I know there are mixed reviews on the topic, where to do it (public/private), how long to do it (is it too much when your child can walk up and ask for it?), I've honestly never come across any uncomfortable incidences until today in the play area. I'm usually not one to get weirded out by this, but today Kella was playing around a few other kids when one walked strait up to her mom and argued about eating. The 2+ yr old climbed up in her mom's lap and went.to.town! I tried not to notice, but I think if you do this you can't be alarmed if you get a few glances from strangers. I just kept imagining what it would be like to still be nursing Kella up until a few months ago? YIKES!

AHHHHHH! SPRING WEATHER! Around here most nights are spent having dinner on the patio. Kella made the suggestion tonight. While I was cooking dinner she came in and said "can we eat outside? It's a beeeautiful day!" Good idea little one!

Spring Break in "ho-ka-koma"

As Kella calls it, ho-ka-koma, we went to Oklahoma for Spring Break. With mom being out of school, Kella out of school, Ryan's chiropractor on SB, we headed north for a few days.

Here's K in mom's renovated kitchen. After church on Sundays, we usually head to Cracker Barrel, where we can get breakfast for lunch, my fav. Kella eats so good here, which is a rare thing, so we try and stop just so she can get her fill on "home cooked" goodness! While at mom's she cooked K a "cracker barrel breakfast" each morning. Here she is helping add the brown sugar for the fried apples. Delicious!

We spent one day this week visiting our friends Stephanie, Abby Kate & Bo in Jenks. Kella & AK played so well together, I wish I'd gotten more pics, but here they are playing Elefun! AK is hysterical, she didn't understand why K didn't have on green for St. Patrick's day. When I explained that I didn't pack her any green clothes and that all her other clothes were back in Dallas, she remembered getting to swim in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl and wanted to go back! Hopefully they will get to come visit this summer and we will definitely go swimming!

In between jumping on the trampoline, destroying the play room, covering Steph's floors with purple sand, they got to take a break and enjoy some popcorn while watching cartoons in Steph & Bobby's bedroom... this is what we found when checking on them...remember, this picture does NOT do the mess justice. I think they grabbed hand-fulls of popcorn and threw it in the air. It was EVERYWHERE! Both girls got to help vacuum up their mess. Silly girls!

After Skip came home from feeding the cows, he brought Kella a bouquet of easter lillies. So we headed out to take some pics since it was such a pretty day and K wanted to see these cows, of course!

4 month update

Ryan actually turned 4 months old the end of February, but our checkup wasn't until last week. Here's her stats:
Height: 26.75" - 99+ % (off the charts for height)
Weight: 13 lb. 10.5oz - 41%
Head: 16 - 32%

Her head shape is making HUGE progress in only a couple of weeks since seeing our new chiropractor! She is very happy with the progress she's making. We have started switching her from left side-back-right side each time she naps, and rotate from left side & right side each night she sleeps. Sounds complicated, but its not. I just have to remember which direction she faced last, I know this by which end of the crib her monitor is on.

She still gets up around 8am, back down at 9:30-10 and sleeps til noon or 1pm. Eating at 8am, noon, 3, 6 & 9pm. Obviously there is variation in these, but only within an hour of each time. She has been drooling ever since I can remember, but is now to the point of soaking her shirt. On Thurs. night she had a fever of 102. One round of pediatric tylenol knocked it out. I just think she is starting to teeth, so I'm not too concerned. Friday night she had a mild temp of 100.5, not really considered a 'fever' so I waited to see if it would continue to rise or take care of itself, which it did, never getting over this temp. She is chewing on everything and always has her hand in her mouth. Can't believe she is already at this point.

I'm a little behind on all the recent happenings, so sit tight as I try to catch up =)

Kella went to her best buddy Camille's birthday party last weekend. This one was at the Young Chef's Academy in Frisco. What a great place for a party. There are so many funny stories about Camille. Kella tells us all kinds of stories about all her friends at 'school', but one of her most fav is Camille. On the way to school, Kipp & Kella talk about what she's going to do that day, songs she will sing, people she will see, etc., one day she said "daddy, I LOVE Camille!" Her parents have similar stories that they hear about Kella from her. When her parents asked what kind of treat she wanted to take to school for her birthday she said, "Kella loves donuts." So, donuts it was! That's too funny, Kella doesn't even eat donuts that often.

At this party the kids made their own pizza and decorated cupcakes.
